Union’s President-elect

The Revd Beti-Wyn James, Carmarthen is the Union of Welsh Independents’ new President-elect. She’ll succeed the Revd Jill-Hailey Harries for the term 2020-22.

Born in Clydach in the Swansea Valley, she was on the Union’s staff before graduating at the Welsh Independents’s College, Aberystwyth, and being ordained as minister at the Tabernacl, Barry in 1994, before moving to her present pastorate of Priory, Cana and Bancyfelin in 2002.

An active supporter of all aspects of Union and Association activity, being Chair of the Independent’s Women’s Network and the Ministers’ Summer School is amongst her current responsibilities.

She’s a well-known author and voice on the media and constantly promotes the value and importance of the contemporary Christian ministry.

Bet-Wyn is married to Philip and they have two daughters.
