Are you planning a major repair project? Do you want to make changes enabling greater use of your church or chapel? Do you want to bring the heritage of your church to life? Is your congregation developing a vision to engage your wider community?
The National Churches Trust are holding a one-day event in conjunction with The Heritage Lottery Fund especially for churches who are planning major work on their buildings. This free event is held between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Thursday the 13th of July 2017, at Cornerstone, Charles Street, Cardiff.
This one day event is an opportunity to learn how to build your case and successfully plan so that you can articulate your vision to funders and the wider public. Staff from Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) in Wales will lead practical sessions explaining grant options and sharing their experiences of how to develop strong bids under the HLF’s programmes.
The event will also cover topics such as consulting and planning your project, local fundraising and applying for other grants including the National Churches Trust’s grant programmes. There will also be opportunities to share and be inspired by others in the same circumstances and to learn about how successful projects did it.
Free tickets are available to people who book before Monday 12th June, but are asked to make a donation towards food and drink. Tickets booked on or after 12th June are subject to a suggested donation of £10.
‘Sacred Wales’ Reception, 4pm-6pm
You are also invited to stay after the workshop for a special reception. Vice Presidents Archbishop George Stack, Archbishop of Cardiff and Huw Edwards, Presenter of BBC News at Ten, are hosting an event to launch a vote to find Wales’ Favourite Churches and Chapels. The reception will be taking place at the Cornerstone just after the workshop from 4pm-6pm.
