On the morning of Saturday, 7th October, Hamas launched a wave of rocket attacks and stormed into Israel leading to the biggest escalation in violence we have seen in the region.
Thousands of Israelis have been killed and many more injured, making it the deadliest attack in Israel in decades. Israeli civilians, including women and children, have been forcibly taken.
In Gaza, thousands have been killed and many are injured. Airstrikes have caused widespread destruction of homes, schools, healthcare facilities and telecommunication installations. Hospitals that are already at breaking point are overwhelmed by casualties while hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced.
Christian Aid have launched an appeal and are asking us to sign a petition calling on the UK Government to ensure that aid continues to reach Gaza.
