“Wales to the World” – The Bible Society Tour

Arfon Jones 03-2015 i'r we

The Beibl Byw campaign was launched following the publishing of three Bibles last year, and the new Ap Beibl for tablets and smartphones.  The three Bibles were a great success; Y Beibl Canllaw,, and the colourful hardback book 365 o storiau o’r Beibl.

Beibl Byw is a Welsh language campaign to encourage people to read these Bibles, although those who don’t speak the language are also invited to support the project.  Many English churches have already introduced copies of to their local schools, young people who attend Welsh-medium education and groups of Merched y Wawr ladies that meet in the church halls.

During the month of February The Bible Society are on tour throughout Wales with a lively presentation of “Wales to the World” introducing a night of drama, music, story-telling, art and testimony.    The evening will focus on the vast spiritual heritage that belongs to Wales, and the centrality of the Bible in its history.  It celebrates this history and heritage, and all that God has done since the defining moment in the 16th Century, when William Morgan translated the Bible into Welsh.   The evening focuses on the influence the Bible has had on Wales’ history, and how God has used the Welsh to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

The audience will be introduced to people like William Morgan, Howell Harris, Daniel Rowland, Williams Pantycelyn, Thomas Charles, Mari Jones, Evan Roberts and others, and compels us not only to celebrate what God has done in the past, but also to challenge us to ask “What does God want us to do today?”.

Please come to one of these evenings, and bring friends along too!
